This is one of my childhood favorites. Part of the appeal is the completely foreign setting--a small island in Ireland, steeped in superstition. The other part of the appeal is the unique storyline--several children rescue two foxes from the sea. They have to keep them hidden because of the superstition surrounding foxes. Not only must they hide two full-grown foxes, these foxes are about to become parents. This book is out of print.
