Heidi by Joanna Spyri is another classic. It is about a small orphan girl sent to live with her eccentric grandfather who lives high in the Swiss Alps. Heidi makes friends with her grandfather’s goats and the boy goat herder. She enjoys the simple lifestyle very much.
