My children enjoy Henry's scrapes: anything from trying to bring a stray dog home on the bus, get his own paper route, build a clubhouse, keep Ramona from un-delivering his papers, and get out of a ride in a bathtub in time to deliver his papers, plus many more. Beverly Cleary is a talented children's author. 

These are clean stories, with minimal objectionable language and functional family life. The children do dress up for Halloween and go trick-or-treating. I always admire the freedom of children of this era to wander around town and get themselves out of scrapes.
