Justin Morgan Had a Horse is based on a true story. A school teacher took a runty little, oddly-proportioned colt as payment for a debt and asked a boy to train the colt for him. 'Little Bub' grew into an amazing horse that could out-pull and out-run all the other horses. The attachment between Joel and Little Bub is a special part of the story.
