I enjoyed this recently with my nine-year-old daughter. It's a compelling secret-garden type story about a little orphan girl's real-life fantasy. She sneaks away alone to visit and care for a cottage in the woods, her own secret place. Of course, I don't endorse the sneaky behavior and lying but it is a worthwhile true-to-life book to read and discuss.
