Frances Hodgson Burnett

As a girl, I loved A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. A very well off little girl tumbles all the way to the bottom of the social scale at her boarding school. I felt deep sympathy for her misfortunes and the ensuing mistreatment. It was so gratifying when nice things began to mysteriously come to her. I especially admired her consistent kindness to others, regardless of her material status.
