A Slip of a Girl by Patricia Reilly Giff is unique historical fiction I listened to with my children. We were put off a bit by the abbreviated way it was written until we realized it was written in verse. We loved the Irish accent by the reader Alana Kerr Collins. The lilt complimented the style perfectly. My children and I were intrigued to learn a little about the Irish Land Wars of the 1800s. Somewhat graphic violence but not too frightening. Includes hints of light romance.
