These are fun adventures of animal characters who can talk but live in the meadows, woods and streams as animals should. They enjoy life, in spite of constant danger from people, guns, dogs and sometimes, each other. Each book focuses on one character but other characters come into the stories. The more characters you read about, the more the stories will intersect for you. This is the entire set, but of course you can buy these individually as well.

Many of these books are available as audio on Librivox. Look for the ones read by John Lieder. He does a phenomenal job of narrating so that each character has a distinct voice.
