The Betsy books are irresistibly written. In "B" is for Betsy, Betsy is very worried about what a terrible place school will be because of old Ned's stories but she discovers she loves school. She makes new friends and learns new things.

I dislike the new covers on the reprinted books but they still have the lovely, old-fashioned illustrations with dresses and pigtails inside them.
