Finding Chika, by Mitch Albom, is the story of a little Haitian girl and her battle with a brain tumor. She lived at an orphanage that Mitch operated in Haiti. He and his wife brought her to the states to receive medical care, and she lived with them for about two years. Mitch Albom is an incomparable writer--seven of his books have been New York Times best sellers. He is also famous as a screenwriter and columnist. I think what I liked most in this book was his vulnerability about his regret at what he's sacrificed for the sake of his career. The audio version, read by the author, contains clips of conversation between Mitch, his wife, and Chika which bring a new dimension to the story.
