This book for pastor's wives is not completely relevant to the type of church life my husband and I are accustomed to, however I found some valuable things in it. The author boldly explores the affect a husband's ministerial calling has on his marriage. She put some feelings into words for me, which I found to be comforting and helpful. She destroys the myths that the pastor's wife can't have best friends and that she is expected to be all to every woman at church. She gets practical about how to relate to the other women at church.
I did not care for the chapter she wrote to pastors to help them understand what their wives need from them because women are not supposed to instruct men. The book itself could provide a springboard for helpful conversations for marriage survival amidst church responsibilities.
