A famous novel which remains popular. The author explores intricate themes of human behavior centered around the theme of racism. A story of a white lawyer defending a black man as seen through the eyes of the lawyer's daughter. This is definitely for older teens and adults, since the crime is a supposed rape. I love the layers of plot in this narrative. I also enjoy the perspective of a very adult story told through the viewpoint of children.
