Dulcy learns a lesson about being satisfied with things-as-they-are after she loses a new doll and her memory of it merges with fantasy. After embellishing the wonders of the doll to many people, she finds it again months later. This is a fairly subtle moralistic story. 

This book has some illustrations but is more of a short chapter book than a preschoolers picture book.
