I would not promote all of Shirley Jackson's books, her marriage, lifestyle or child-rearing methods, unfortunately. But with that disclaimer out of the way. Life Among the Savages is a skillful and highly entertaining literary take on life with young children. This is for the mom who needs a book to lighten her mood and refresh her outlook on life with adorable but exasperating young children. I enjoyed it immensely.
